On the 6th of September, in the afternoon, the 2023 cohort of new students of SJTU Pre-University Program gathered at the Second Building in Qibao Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, marking the commencement of the first in-person opening ceremony since the COVID-19 pandemic era.

Ma Wei, the deputy director of the International Affairs Division of SJTU and Wang Xinrong, the vice dean of Lifelong Education College of SJTU, had delivered a marvelous speech online. They showed enthusiasm to the 23-year international Pre-University students and welcomed them to join the family of international students of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Zhai Ying, the director of the International Operation Center LEC SJTU, conducted the first lesson to the 2023-year Pre-University students.

Jun Wei Lim, a Malaysian student who was going to study at Antai School of Economics and Management of SJTU, and Jason Chow, a student from Indonesia, both sent their blessings. Pre-University Alumni Ong Jia Wei, Siew Ping Hii, Lai Min Yee, Isabel Chong Poo Yan, and Yap Choong Er also interacted with the students at the ceremony.

Yep Zhen Yuan from Malaysia, Richard Huang from Indonesia, and Soe Lei Hnin from Myanmar delivered speeches on behalf of freshmen.

In order to help students to adapt to the study and campus life, Ms. Zhang Shu and Sun Xiaojuan provided useful guidance on academics and the class teacher, Kong Jie gave some tips for living in and around the campus.

The ceremony ended successfully with the high anticipation of students and parents for their future. Dear Pre-University students of 2023 , wish you a smooth journey in studying in China with the companionship of SJTU Pre- university Program!
